Wine fest in Mombasa
On April 12, Muthoni Music will host the fifth edition of the Blankets and Wine fest at Forty Thieves Beach Bar, Diani, from 3pm. Ten per cent of all proceeds will go to the Colobus Trust food appeal. Muthoni, Maia Von Lekow, Mutinda and Kaz will perform. Tickets for adults are Sh1,000 in advance and Sh1,500 at the gate. Children over five will be charged Sh400.
Gospel concert at casino
A gospel music event dubbed C-Far is set for today at International Casino Complex, Museum Hill. The concert aimed at empowering youth and promoting young talent will feature gospel musicians Mercy Wairegi, Wangeci Mbogo, Phill J, Lenny James, Xtee dancers, Professor, Wao, Jeffa C, Shazron, Jennifer Kimani and Tete Runiga. The event is sponsored by G-Far Youth Network and Furahia Kipawa band.
Literary event set for August
The Kwani Literary Festival is set to take place in Nairobi in August. The event involves creative writing workshops, panel discussions, lectures, book signings and readings at various venues in Nairobi. The event usually attracts top novelists, authors, journalists and publishers from around Africa every year.

Mombasa’s underwater disco
Club Lambada International, Mtwapa, will hold a poolside event dubbed Splash disco this weekend. Cabaret dancers will perform at midnight. Also in the house will be renowned Congolese singers Amiti Musica.
Smirnoff white party
An event dubbed Smirnoff White Party will take place on April 11 at Club Tembo, Mombasa. Smirnoff brand manager, Ms Juliana Kagwa says revellers dressed in white would be given incentives. DJs for the show include DJ Pinye, Code Red, MOB deejays and DJ Freida. Eclipse and Toxic dancers will also perform.
Curtains fall for comedy
A hilarious comedy titled Will You Still Love me in the Morning is on at Alliance FranÁaise. Jeremy (Derrick Amunga) and Celia (Mbeki Mwalimu) return a week earlier than scheduled from their unsuccessful honeymoon after failing to consummate their marriage. They find Jeremy’s two bosses, Titus and Humphrey, have accepted his offer to stay in his house while he is away. Tickets are on sale at Alliance FranÁaise, Assanand’s Music Shop on Moi Avenue and Sarit Centre at Sh500.
