Valentine’s day has evolved so much since we first started celebrating it. Initially it was all about romantic relationships but now, we are starting to see more people celebrating self-love as well as friendships.

This whole renewed concept of valentine’s day introduced something new. Drum rolls please, here comes, galentines day!

Cheesy as it may sound it is seriously becoming a thing.

And if you haven’t heard about it before, galentine’s day is a day where ladies mostly single, come together to celebrate their friendship. The official date is February 13th and it’s a non-official holiday dedicated to friendship.

This valentines, or rather, galentines, you and your friends deserve to have an epic celebration especially if you have nothing planned.

These are some ideas and tips on how you can execute the perfect date with the ladies:

Choose a suitable date

Although galentine’s is on the 13th of February, you’re still free to readjust your plans to a date when everyone is comfortable. Since it’s so close to valentine’s day, some of your friends might be having plans of their own with their significant others.

Get everyone together to consult on when is the best day for you to meet up and don’t put so much pressure on yourself to plan something on the exact date.

Figure out who to invite

A prefect friendship holiday should include your closest friends. It’s a day dedicated to all the amazing memories you have together and the bond you have so maybe you should only let your besties know about it.

Decide on who you want to celebrate it with and if that means planning for a galentine date with your two best friends, that’s okay.

Or, you can still choose to turn it to a networking event by inviting some of your close female co-workers and friends for an empowerment party.

Include some fun activities

A galentine date is never complete without some fun activities. You and your pals might have been so busy lately and maybe you haven’t had the opportunity to meet up in a while.

You should plan some activities like a paint and sip event or organize something that you ordinarily wouldn’t do. This is a great recipe for a memorable holiday.

Turn it into a sleepover

Whenever you get the chance to have fun with the gals, you never want the enjoyment to end. This year you can plan an indoors party where you cook, play games and catch up then, turn it into a fun movie night.

A sleep over could be just what you need because you get to spend more time with friends especially with those who you don’t get to see as often.

Consider a weekend getaway

This year February 13th is on a Sunday. Since it’s a weekend, why not consider having an out-of-town party? You can travel somewhere that is convenient like a location that is just an hour away to remove the stress of travelling long distances.

Start planning early so that you have enough time to decide where you would want to go and make sure you spend the invites on time. You can even decide to be planning annual getaways with your girls as a galentine’s tradition.

The options are endless.
