The countdown to the grand finale of Mr and Miss World Kenya 2024 is finally over as the crowning event will take place at Two Rivers Mall today.
The event will see the crowning of a new king and queen to replace the current title holders, Frank Asiyo and Chantou Kwamboka.
Scores of contestants from across the country are vying for the coveted titles, undergoing rigorous training and competing in various challenges. From showcasing their poise and elegance on the runway to demonstrating their intelligence and compassion on social impact projects, the contestants have shown themselves to be the best.
According to a report from the franchise, the initial auditions attracted over 150 entries from all 47 counties, with only 46 contestants making it to the bootcamp.
“At the bootcamp, participants learn and grow skills that will enable them to represent Kenya on the global stage. Through a series of challenges such as Head-to-Head for Public Speaking, Talent and Top Model, there have been a number of evictions,” says Mrs Terry Mungai, EBS, Franchise Director.
As much as the spotlight will be on the contestants, there will also be electrifying performances from gospel sensation Mercy Masika, the dynamic duo Vijana Barubaru and the soulful Kethan. The charismatic duo of Oga Obinna and Angela Wambui will host the event, promising a night of non-stop entertainment.
While the global Miss World pageant was established in 1951, it was only in 2002 that Mr and Miss World Kenya, the country’s oldest and most recognised pageant, took a positive turn under the management of Ashleys Kenya Limited and embarked on a journey of status restoration and reinvigoration.
Over the years, Ashleys Kenya Limited has been recognised as a key player in the beauty industry. Concerns about management, lack of publicity, public interest and perceived lack of commitment in previous years prompted the company to acquire the pageant franchise.

In recent years, the pageant has attracted well over 10,000 contestants who have competed in front of a live audience of over 500 and a televised audience of over five million.

Shamim Ali, Miss World Kenya 2012, made history becoming the first runner-up in the Miss Africa category, showcasing Kenya’s beauty and intelligence on a global platform. She also raised significant funds for charity.
The country has a proud record in the Miss World competition, having won the Continental Beauty Queen title four times: Yolanda Masinde (2000), Aisha Lieberg (1990), Diana Neilor (1988) and Khadija Adam Ismail (1984).
