Should you be taking an Omega supplement?

Omega 3, 6 and 9 are important fatty acids that your body needs to function properly. Omega 3 and 6 are essential fatty acids, meaning they are not produced by your body and must be obtained from your diet, but Omega 9 is non-essential as it is produced by your body.

Modern diets are often low in Omega 3, which are found in oily fish and algae, so supplementing may be essential to get the right balance. However, we often consume too much omega 6, which is found in refined vegetable oils. It is therefore important to watch our intake by reducing how much cooking oil we consume. Finally, as omega 9s are produced by the body, it is not necessary to supplement them, although swapping out saturated fats for omega 9 fats, found in nut and seed oils, can have health benefits.

What's that thing you have been procrastinating over?
