Looking young is almost everyone’s cup of tea. While we all acknowledge that we are growing older with each passing day, we do not wish to walk around looking old. This is why we go an extra mile and try to look younger than we are by using beauty products to enhance our skins.
There’s one thing, however, that we often overlook- the power in looking younger naturally. While beauty products and procedures work, there are natural ways that give off better results and almost cost you nothing. Some of the natural ways you can combat aging include;
Exercise
Visiting a gym, taking walks and running among other exercises are all an easy way to keep the young look going. This is because sweating removes toxins which not only makes you feel better and rejuvenates your skin. Exercise also increases circulation and carries blood to feed the skin nutrients, hormones and oxygen from the inside. This will automatically give your skin a healthy glow and plump appearance
Quit smoking
Smoking impairs blood flow to the skin by narrowing blood vessels in the outermost layers of the skin. Nicotine also stains teeth hence taking away the dazzle associated with a white set of teeth. It also yellows fingernails leaving them with an undesirable colour. Repeated pursing of lips and squinting the eyes when inhaling may contribute to wrinkles with time. When you stop smoking, these things do not happen and your skin retains a youthful look.
Hydrate
Every cell, tissue, and organ in your body needs water to work properly. From flushing toxins out, maintaining body temperature and even lubricating your joints, water is a key element to who we are. Your kidneys need water to filter waste from the blood and excrete it in urine and sweat. Drinking up also keeps your skin supple by maintaining its elasticity and combat the appearance of those wrinkles.
Eat well
While we cannot turn or stop time to stop ageing, what we eat can give us the younger look that we so much desire. An unhealthy diet can damage your metabolism, cause weight gain and even hurt organs, such as your heart, liver and even your skin. Foods laded in sugars make your skin lose elasticity giving you lines and wrinkles. Fresh fruits and vegetables on the other hand contain powerful antioxidants that help to protect skin from the cellular damage caused by free radicals.
Protection from sunlight
The warmth of the sun on our skin feels great but does it leave our skin looking great? Exposure to sun is exposure to ultraviolet light which destroy our skin’s elasticity and promotes the formation of wrinkles. This may also cause the oxidative stress that damages cellular DNA resulting to skin sagging and pigmentation. While working under direct sunlight, ensure you use sun screen to keep of the rays.
