Lilian Muli is not a stranger to trolls and hate both online and offline. She has been mocked and abused for just about everything she does or says. Well, she now has a message for the trolls.

“Shame on you,” she said and reminded them to think about how someone close to them would feel if they go through the same thing.

She was speaking at Robert Burale' RB Show on Facebook, where she opened up about dealing with trolls and how it has affected her life.

“I do not have a thick skin. I have learnt not to take things to heart and learnt not to look at the world as a negative place and that when people attack you, most of the time, they are probably going through their own struggles that is why they choose to be negative,” she added.

Muli also said that she is learning not to repeat the same mistakes that got her trolled in the first place.

What was your favourite subject in school?

“I have made countless mistakes. I believe I will still make them but I am now careful not to repeat the same mistakes.”

One of the biggest being sharing the photos of her son on her social media.

“I [shared my son’s photos] once and saw them on a blog that was talking about something negative. It hurt me,” she said.

She has now chosen not to share any more of his photos because she does not want people to keep associating him with his mother’s lifestyle.

“I choose not to expose him and keep that part of his life private to avoid having him live his life with a tag.”

This is why she reminded trolls and social media bullies that their actions are social footprints that can never ever be erased.

“The minute you put that on social media you are destroying somebody’s name and image. And you do not even know this person. You are filling your heart with unnecessary hate,” she added, urging them to get professional help for the things they are going through because they are angry and insecure.

To the victim of bullying, she encouraged them to apologise for their mistakes and move on or to not respond to the trolls.

“Delete and Block,” she said.
