7 of the 8 families bereaved in the nyayo stadium stampede last week have threatened to sue the government over the incident. Speaking at the city mortuary in Nairobi, the families warned that they would seek legal redress should the government fail to take adequate action over the matter and bring those responsible for the deaths to book. Eight people died in the incident, which has been termed as the worst stampede in the country’s sporting history.
