How to fade age spots with rosehip oil

Skin Care

Are you looking for a natural oil that’s rich in antioxidants yet affordable? One that will leave your complexion glowing? This oil is like a multi-vitamin for your skin, as it is rich in vitamin A, C, E and Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Look no further than Rosehip oil which is readily available in health food shops. Use it twice a day and watch the transformation.

What Rosehip oil does to your skin

Your body needs essential fats which must be obtained externally through food or supplementation. When Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) are applied topically, there are beneficial to the skin in several ways. EFAs waterproof your skin, creating a barrier against the elements. This helps keep your skin moist by minimising water loss. EFAs also increase collagen production which improves the firmness and texture of the skin. Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids reduce inflammation thereby minimising skin problems such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

Vitamin A – applying vitamins topically helps to deliver maximum anti-aging benefits. Vitamin A is known to reduce wrinkles and roughness, and fade scars.

Vitamin E – eases dryness by helping the skin retain its natural moisture. Its antioxidant properties give it the ability to neutralise damaging free radicals. It also bolsters the skin’s UV defence by protecting it from sun damage.

Vitamin C – the Vitamin C in Rosehip oil brightens the skin by improving the appearance of pigmentation and restoring the skin’s natural colour.

Uses

How to use Rosehip oil

Step 1- Apply

Squeeze a small amount onto your palm, or dot it onto a slightly damp and cleansed skin.

Step 2- Massage

Massage it onto the skin in an upward motion.

Step 3 - Nose and Lips

Swipe it over your lips and nose. Rosehip oil can help to get rid of dead damaged cells on your lips.

It is light and easily absorbed, and does not leave an oily residue. You may use it on its own, or apply your usual moisturiser or sunscreen on top.

Rosehip oil can be used on the whole body and you only need a small amount. Although plant allergies are not very common, always perform a patch test on a small area of your skin. The oil can be used on acne scars, however, it may not be wise to use it on active acne breakouts.
