If you all can remember well, just before the inauguration of President Trump on January 20th 2017, there was an absolute awkward moment as the then incoming First Lady of the United States of America Melania Trump, handed the then outgoing FLOTUS, Michelle Obama, a blue Tiffany & Company box.
Michelle was evidently befuddled and her reaction excited netizens globally. We were also left guessing what the contents of the box could be. Luckily for us, over one year later, Michelle Obama has revealed what Melania Trump gifted her.
It was a picture frame. Michelle revealed this recently during an appearance the Ellen DeGeneres show. On the awkwardness of the moment, Mrs. Obama had this to say, "There's all this protocol. This is like a state visit, so they tell you you're gonna do this, they're gonna stand here. And never before do you get this gift.
"So, I'm like okay... What am I supposed to do with this gift?
"No one would come and take the box, and I'm thinking do we take the picture with it?
"And then my husband saved the day – see he grabbed the box and took it back inside. But everybody cleared out. No staff, no one. I was like what do you do with the box?"
She however admits that it was indeed a lovely gift.
