Living

water daily

By Anne Mungai (@annemungai_)

Water is important in aiding digestion, for clear skin, detoxification and in providing energy to the body. It is healthy to drink 2 Litres of water which is an equivalent of eight glasses in a day.

Drinking eight glasses can be a struggle but there are easy ways to turn this into a lifestyle.

Set a goal: It is advisable to set goals on how much water to drink daily. Keep track of how much water is consumed daily and improve slowly.

Water bottle: Invest in a beautiful water bottle that is practical. It is advisable to find a bottle with quantity marked in milliliters to track how much water is consumed. Fill this bottle with water every time it is empty. Keep the bottle close always.

Infuse: Add herbs, vegetables or even fruits into the water. This will help improve taste and add vitamins into the water. Lemon is a good choice but avoid too much lemon as it corrodes the teeth, try brushing after drinking lemon water.

Flavored water: Flavored water is clear water that has different flavors added to it, this can vary from strawberry to orange. Experiment with different flavors of water and drink as much as possible.

Straws: Use drinking straws if using a glass or bottle feels like a chore. One gets to drink more and faster if using a straw

Enjoy this new and healthy lifestyle.
