Kenya's Ebwali face a baptism of fire when they take on record holders St Mary's Kitende of Uganda in their last preliminary match today.

Ugandan teams have been dominating boys football competition since the inception of the games in 2002 and Kitende has won the title 12 times.

Ebwali have lost to Tanzania's Katoro 1-0 and went down 3-1 against Buddo of Uganda and the Kenyan boys are expected to face it rough today when they clash with the Ugandans.

Kitende have been exhibiting high standards of football in Arusha and remain as the title favourites but Ebwali will go flat out to upset the Ugandans.

In girls' football, Dagoretti mixed school entertain Sacred Heart, Gulu of Uganda in another match expected to be tough.

Wiyeta is the other Kenyan girls team in title contention and take on Amus College of Uganda. Wiyeta started the games on a positive note beating Noa girls of Uganda 3-1.

In boys' basketball, Kenya's champions Dr Aggrey who were to play Trust St Patrick's of Tanzania yesterday face another Tanzanian side Nsumba today and a win will see them advance to tomorrow's semi-finals. Girls semi-finalists were to be determined after yesterday's matches.

Buruburu girls take on Nabisunsa of Uganda in their last preliminary match of the girls 3x3 basketball.

Namwela of Kenya take on ESSA Nyarugunga of Rwanda in a boys' volleyball match where semi-finalists will be determined after today's matches.

Girl's handball defending champions Moi Girls Kamusinga of Kenya play their last preliminary match against Kiziguro of Rwanda.

In boys' hockey, Friends School Kamusinga play Tanzania's Arusha Meru school while Trans Nzoia mixed school of Kenya play Uganda's Kakungulu in a girls' hockey match.

Athletics competition that was initially scheduled to start yesterday was pushed to today where Kenya will be battling to retain both boys and girls titles they won in 2019.
