A resident has moved to court seeking orders barring the county government of Murang'a from paying contractors up to Sh2.7 billion based on findings of a recent report on pending bills.
Edwin Gathaiya wants the court to declare as illegal, irregular, null and void, a gazette notice dated September 16 on the review of the pending bills.
He also wants permanent injunction restraining Bityarn, the fourth respondent, its agent, servants or employees from continuing the audit.
Governor Irungu Kang'ata, Murang'a County Government, County Assembly, Office of the Auditor General, Controller of Budget, National Treasury, Data Protection Commissioner and EACC are respondents in the case.
"The action by the first four respondents amounts to abuse of office and powers bestowed on the Constitution," Gathaiya said.
