Since we're all spending more time at home at the moment, it's only logical that our essentials will run out much quicker than they usually would.
As a result of the coronavirus lockdown, a number of items including flour (for all the baking we've been doing) soap and toilet roll might as well be classed as gold dust, as they can be pretty hard to find in the shops.
And while you could always queue outside your closest supermarket for up to an hour in the hopes of getting your hands on some, there's a much simpler way of getting more use out of at least one of these coveted items.
A savvy mum shared her top tip for making toilet roll last longer in the Facebook group 'Mums Who Budget & Save'.
Whilst this hack is perfect for lockdown, it could also come in handy when it comes to the school holidays.
She wrote: “Kids home from school?
"Going through toilet paper faster than usual?
"Try squashing the roll - so it doesn't spin so quickly and then not as much will be pulled off."
And, it really is as simple as that - flatten your toilet roll and pop it back onto the holder.
Many people were quick to praise the unnamed woman for her smart idea.
One said: "Mind blowing!! I’m definitely trying this – for me!"
Another commented: "I’ve been doing this for a number of years. It works – for me too, because I also know I’m likely to use too much".
A third added: "I had to do that. My kids would just pull it until it stops".
