Manchester United fans are most likely to have an affair, according to a dating agency survey.

It found they play away from home more than supporters of any other Premier League club.

Liverpool fans - in second place - are not much better, followed by Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.

Adam Scott, of Illicit Encounters.com which did the survey, said: "Fans look up to footballers and so many are allegedly cheating on their better halves."

Newcastle fans were the sixth most unfaithful. Sunderland supporters make up 4% of female adulterers.

The top 10 contains four London teams, the other being West Ham United.

Sara Hartley, also from the website, added: "The higher income bracket means many Londoners have enough money to afford to have an affair discreetly - the separate Sim cards, meals out and hotel stays soon add up."
