Before getting down to the treatments that can be found in the comfort of your home, it is important to note where the warts are located in the body and if possible the strain of HPV that caused it. Using wrong treatments may do more harm than good.

Genital warts can be a source of embarrassment and before it gets out of hand, below are some home remedies for treatment.

Apple cider vinegar

Much like prescription medications that use acid to treat warts, ACV works the same way. Dip a cotton ball or Q tip in ACV and apply to the warts. Leave it overnight and rinse the next day.

Tea tree oil

Along with the many benefits essential oils have, tea tree has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antifungal properties that works as a remedy. Although it causes a minor harsh sensation, it is one of the most effective treatments.

Mix it with a carrier oil and apply directly to the wart.

Castor oil

Not easy to work with due to its stickiness, rub castor oil using a cotton swab on the affected area and tape it or cover it with crushed garlic for maximum effect.

 Caused by HPV

Vitamin C

To destroy the papilloma virus which is the main cause of warts, crush a vitamin C tablet and add water. Apply and cover area with a bandage.

Garlic

Crush a few cloves to make a fine paste and apply directly. Wash it off after an hour or leave it covered with a bandage for a few days.

Onion

Using a few slices, place the onions on the warts and cover with a gauze or bandage. For faster results, sprinkle salt on some onions and juice. The onion works as an anti-microbial agent and salt works as an antiseptic. Continue reapplying the juice for great results.

Aloe vera

To dissolve warts naturally apply aloe vera juice or rub the gel generously on the affected area.

Baking soda

Mix castor oil and baking soda to make a paste and apply. Cover area with bandage and repeat this until it disappears.

Epsom salt

To your bathing water add Epsom salt and soak in it for 30 minutes or more then dry the affected area.

Duct tape

Although it sounds strange, this has been proven to work. Take a strip of duct tape and wrap it round the warts. Leave it on for a few days and repeat.

While doing this, it is important to include a dietary change by cutting out immune stressors like cigarettes, processed foods, refined foods, red meat, stimulants such as caffeine etc.

Up your crunchy vegetable intake like cabbage, broccoli, kale, cauliflower etc, whole grains, lean meats, whole grains and beans.
