It was all glamour and glitter during this year’s Governor’s Awards held on November 18 organized by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, in California, United States.
The Governor’s Awards presentation is an annual award ceremony where three awards signifying lifetime achievement within the film industry are presented.
This year’s ceremony, the 10th of its kind was scaled back due to the ongoing wildfires in California, which has affected a huge part of Hollywood and led to at least 76 deaths. Despite this, celebrities arrived in style to mark the important day.
Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong'o was one who stole the show, stepping into the red carpet with a Grecian-style white dress. The 35-year-old looked gorgeous in the beautiful dress that had wide waistband, cold shoulder sleeves, was slashed to the waist and with a skirt that fell to the ground in clingy layers.
Adding to the glamour, Lupita added white detailing to the black braids, styled on top of her head. For accessories, the Oscar award winning actress threw in diamond chandelier earrings and a glossy plum lip color.
For shoes, Lupita sported chunky heeled white shoes with platform soles.
Other actresses who wore white to the occasion include Saoirse Ronan, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Melissa McCarthy, Felicity Jones and Regina King.
