Kisii University shines at District scout camping competition

Kisii university emerged winners both in male and female category at the just concluded District scout camping competition held at Nyanchwa boys.  The Flamingo Kings as famously known (male category) emerged first after trouncing other competitors with 340 points out of 400 points. They were closely followed by ‘The flamingo queens’ (female category) after garnering a total of 338 points out of 400. Kisii University emerged the top in Rovers category.

In Mwamba scouts category, Getembe emerged first followed by Daraja Mbili boys and Daraja Mbili girls. In Chipukizi scouting category, Nyanchwa primary (boys) emerged winners followed by Nyanchwa primary (girls) and Kisii primary schoo. However, the hosts Nyanchwa high school didn’t participate.

Speaking during the closing ceremony, Kisii county commissioner of scouting Robert Riberton thanked the participants for their good conduct during the event and encouraged them to work hard since there is stiff competition from other counties.

“I want to thank all the participants for the good code of conduct that you have displayed during this event” said Riberton.

Also present were Kisii university scout patron Francis Monari and chief assessor Madam Phanice. Francis Monari congratulated Kisii University scouting group for their outstanding performance and challenged them to work hard till they reach nationals.

The event organized by Kisii county commission of scouting Robert Riberton, occasioned participants from primary to university level. The participants were Kisii University, Daraja Mbili High school, Getembe secondary school, Nyanchwa primary and Kisii primary schools.
