Home golfer George Githinji posted 75 nett to emerge the division one winner of the Friday Nite golf tournament played at the par 71 ni2ne-hole Mombasa golf course on Friday.

Playing off handicap 12, Githinji was only three strokes ahead of the outgoing club captain of Nyali Golf and Country Club handicap 12 Sammy Kamau who finished second in the daylong 18 holes event that attracted 120 golfers.

The Club’s former Captain Symon Wambugu, playing off handicap 16, was the division two winner on 70 nett, while taking the third division plate was handicap 28 Bharat Chavda on a score of 74 nett.

At the par 72 Leisure Resort Golf Course in South Coast of Mombasa, handicap 27 Tim Jackson posted 38 stableford points to emerge the overall winner of the club nite event sponsored by the club.

Handicap 16 Herter Frank was the runner up on 38 points, while the third slot was claimed by handicap 22 Manfred Duenert on 36 points.

The Heritage Insurance-sponsored Mug of Mugs and January 2015 Mug event played at the par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club course on Saturday was won by handicap 10 Joseph Waigwa on 71 nett for the division one section. He had tied on the same points with handicap 5 Joseph Oluoch.

The Division two title was claimed by handicap 18 Sandeep Gudka on 68 nett while handicap 21 Clive Barnsley won the third division title on 72 nett.

At the nine hole par 70 Nyanza Club course, handicap 28 Thomas Abol posted 37 points to win the Wednesday Spoon event. Handicap Clifford Mwallo finished second on 35 points, beating handicap 26 Allan Kirui to the third slot by a point. Handicap 17 Dr. Rosemary Obara was the lady winner on an excellent score of 37 points.

The Blue Saturday tournament played at the par 72 Limuru Club course on Saturday was won by handicap 18 Francis Mwaura who scored 69 nett to beat a field of 106 golfers. He was followed by handicap 11 Ken Mambo on 69 nett and handicap 15 Kennedy Gitahi Noroge on the same score in second and third place respectively.
