More than 200 boys are sexually abused daily while more than 2.8 million men have been victims of domestic violence in Kenya, according to figures released by men’s rights advocacy group Maendeleo ya Wanaume (Mawe). While releasing the figures on Monday, Mawe chairman Nderitu Njoka said seven out of 10 men have experienced physical, emotional and economic abuse. Njoka said the figures were from a survey conducted by his organisation which further showed that violence against men and the boy child, was an extensive rights abuse that often goes unreported. Njoka says the survey was conducted in 10 counties namely Nairobi, Nyeri, Kilifi, Kisumu, Kitui, Kisii, Kakamega, Meru, Homa Bay and Nakuru.
