Sex scandal rocks 2 leading schools in Gilgil, suspects sent home

Parents and teachers of two leading public schools in Gilgil are in shock after a sex scandal involving scores of students was exposed.

It’s emerging that students from Koelel Boys High have for months been sneaking into the nearby Gilgil Girls Secondary for sexual acts.

Several students from both schools have been sent home as education officers moved in to investigate.

Incidentally, Gilgil Girls is a centre of excellence and four of the girls implicated in the scandal have been indefinitely suspended.

According to impeccable sources, the boys had been sneaking into the girls’ school and into the dormitory before they were busted.

The source added that some of the boys could have been compromising the night guard using cash before accessing the school.

“A group of boys last week entered the school dressed in skirts but some teacher got a hint and managed to nab three while the rest escaped under the cover of darkness,” said the source.

Contacted on phone, Gilgil Sub-County Education Officer Samuel Njathi confirmed the incident adding that all those students involved had been disciplined.

He added that they were investigating allegations.

Njathi said the girls school claimed that the students were away from school when the incident occurred.

“I have visited the two schools and disciplinary action has been taken on all those students involved,” he said.

“The boys involved have been sent home and directed to report with their parents as part of the ongoing investigations.”

A parent of one of the affected girls lashed at the school management for unfairly sending home the involved students.

The parent who declined to be named raised concern over the manner the investigations were done adding that some of the students were unfairly targeted.

“We first question how a group of boys can sneak into a girl’s dormitory on several occasions without the management knowing,” she wondered.

The incensed parent has called on the Education Ministry to fully investigate the matter for fairness.
