Veteran musician Suzanne Gachukia is married again!
Years after divorcing her first husband and fellow musician Gido Kibukosya, dating controversial news anchor Louis Otieno, Suzanne recently tied the knot with Kenya’s envoy to Ireland, Richard Opembe.
The couple, said to have been dating for a while now, tied the knot in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family.
Richards’ son from a previous relationship, Jesse Opembe, was also present.
So who is Richard Opembe?
He is the man who was chosen by President Uhuru Kenyatta to head the diplomatic mission in Ireland.
Heads Up dug up a little history on him and we realised that just like Suzanne, he attended some of the best schools like St Mary’s Nairobi and also studied at the Institute of Sales and Marketing in the United Kingdom.
Suzanne, in the past, blamed her failed marriage to Gido’s alcoholism.
She also revealed that her parents were against their union from the beginning. That probably explains why she decided to keep a low profile on her relationship with her envoy hubby.
“It was a low profile event as most of her celebrity friends actually found out online when she posted the photos last week. It was a garden wedding officiated by personnel from the AG’s chambers,” a source close to the singer told Heads Up.
Some of the celebs who posted their congratulatory messages included veteran musician John Katana, who judging from his message, seems to have been Richard’s childhood friend.
“Hongera sana Suzanne. Tell Mheshimiwa Balozi I will still call him by the name I used to call him by back in the day in Tudor, Mombasa - ‘CHICHADI’,” read the congratulatory message on one of the photos posted by the new bride!
