The Kenyan economy may have recovered towards the end of last year, going by improved revenue collection figures released, Thursday, by the Kenya Revenue Authority. The taxman exceeded its set target by 2.5 billion shillings or 12 percent between October and December 2009, netting 136.8 billion shillings. KRA however came 1.3 billion shillings short of its cumulative target for the first half of the 2009 / 2010 fiscal year, due to shortfalls suffered between July and September when the economy registered no growth at all.
