FIRST DATE
David: We met when I went to a chemist to buy some medication. I was drawn to her attractive smile and I asked her out. She turned down my offer.
Rita: I worked at the pharmacy and he kept showing up. Each time, he would say he was unwell and needed medication. He ended up asking me out six times but I kept refusing. Eventually, I referred him to a doctor.
David: As a gentleman, I couldn't lose hope. I admired her so much. She finally accepted to go out with me. We courted for three years.
Rita: If a man asks you out, you don't have to give in so fast. I had to get to know him. It was only after the three-year courtship that I was sure he was a good man — capable, loving, and responsible.
THE DRAMA
David: Initially, I was reluctant to do a wedding but after the traditional ceremony when I was introduced to her parents, I saw the wedding plans come to reality. From there, I took the initiative to make it happen.
Rita: After we agreed on a wedding last year, we just decided that it would be the best way to start 2015. I chose to wear a turquoise dress. It was a symbol of our special relationship. We had lived together for seven years before our wedding day.
David: We didn't have challenges in the planning since we planned the wedding ourselves.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS:
David: During the ceremony when I said, 'I do!'”I will never forget that.
Rita: When I went signed the marriage certificate. I just knew things were OK.
