This refreshing cocktail traces its origins to Mexico where chili peppers are amongst the most used ingredients. The name “Picante” comes from the Spanish word meaning “spicy”.
Here is how to make a spicy picante cocktail at home:
INGREDIENTS:
50ml Tequila.
10g Coriander leaves.
½ Red chilli.

1 tablespoon of honey.

METHOD:
STEP 1: Start by putting the tequila, coriander and chilli into a cocktail shaker then smash using a muddler or end of a rolling pin. You bash in order to release the chilli oils.
STEP 2: Add the honey, lime juice and a handful of ice cubes into the mixture. Carefully cover the shaker and shake until the outside of the pitcher feels cold.
STEP 3: Slowly dampen the rim of a tumbler and dip it in salt. Then strain in the cocktail and garnish with a slice of chilli to serve. Enjoy!!
