Star of the week: Lauren Elizabeth James

Lauren James is the star of the week. The England National team star scored twice to put China to the sword in a 6-1 demolition at the ongoing Women's World Cup.

The win saw the Lionesses charge into the World Cup last 16. Lauren was in blistering form in Adelaide wiping the floor with their opponents to set up a Monday duel with Nigeria.

Lauren is of Grenadian and Dominican descent, through her father, and English descent through her mother.

She was scouted by Arsenal as a 13-year-old and trained with the boy's team, but within two years she began training with the first team.

She joined the Manchester United Women's team in July 2018. On 23rd July 2021, James signed a four-year contract with Chelsea.

James is the younger sister of Chelsea and England defender Recce James. They are the first brother and sister siblings to represent England at senior level in the modern era.
