Protein bars are a handy pre or post gym snack but they are extremely expensive and often loaded with sugars and preservatives.
Simple homemade protein balls work just as well and are packed with healthy ingredients, making them the perfect, healthy on-the-go protein snack.
Ingredients:
½ cup oats
4 tablespoons peanut butter
2 scoops whey protein
2 spoons raisins
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon chia seeds
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions:
1. Add the oats, protein powder and peanut butter to a bowl and mix thoroughly.
2. Add the honey and mix in before adding dried fruit, chia seeds and spices.
3. If the mixture is too crumbly to roll into a ball, add some water or almond milk a little at a time until the mix is sticky.
4. Roll into balls in your hands and chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
5. Enjoy.
