The new collection by Lucy Rao’s Rialto Design House is inspired by the Angelina fabric from Ethiopia created by Vlisco. The collection seeks to show how much African fashion has evolved in its unlimited ways. Its simplicity is not only beautiful but also versatile.

It was also a celebration of the 50-year anniversary of the fabric   Dashiki, also known as “Danchiki” by the Hausas, which means shirt. The print has now become a symbol of African pride.

From the revolutionary 1960s to Kyemah McEntyre’s handmade dashiki prom dress, the dashiki print is here to stay. Here are ways to stand out in dashiki:
