Jubilee Party is in talks with four local universities to offer political education where politicians seeking office can first enroll.
Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju yesterday said the party, working with the universities, has developed a curriculum that will be used to teach those taking the short courses. Those who go through the work will, in the end, be awarded certificates.
“We have a syllabus ready. We will be launching it soon. As a party, we feel that it is part of our duty to redefine our politics,” said Tuju.
He said the partnership with the universities will be part of their plans to come up with a Party Academy, where the ideals of Jubilee will be advanced.
This is part of the best practices the party is borrowing from South Africa’s Africa National Congress (ANC), where Jubilee has been bench-marking.
“We must get ways of instilling some values in leaders through political education,” said Tuju who is currently in South Africa for further engagements with ANC.
