Weight loss tips: How to remove that ‘tyre’ around your waist in a week

Self made weight loss expert Jeff Mlolongo

‘Weighty’ matters have dominated social media this past week. But when all is said and done, there is no doubt that indeed obesity is actually a serious health risk. When the heart gets overloaded, the consequences could be fatal.

That’s where the ‘self-made’ weight loss expert Jeff Mlongo comes in. The middle-aged man is also a trained chef.  Having worked in the hotel industry and interacted with food for 17 years, he has learnt the art of healthy living.

Mlongo says he’s capable of trimming off extra fat around the waist in seven days.

“I use Tianshi belt, a rechargeable Chinese-made belt tied around the waist to burn fat and help one gain an enviable hour-glass figure,” Mlongo says.

Mlongo says he started the business two years ago after a friend opened his eyes about the lucrative opportunity. The belt is reportedly designed to help one lose weight since it has multiple rubbing balls, strong vibrations and a combination of electrolytes to burn the fat around the waist.

The magnetic wave points, according to Mlongo, stimulates three main points and consequently accelerates blood circulation.

“For noticeable results, one must wear the belt for seven days one and half hours daily - 45 minutes in the morning and 45 minutes in the evening. During that time, it is advisable for one to take hot drinks like water or tea,” he explains.

The belt is also available for sale for between Sh80,000 and Sh100,000. Those who don’t wish to purchase the belt can pay for daily sessions that cost Sh300, which adds up to Sh 2,100 per week for the advisable seven days, though clients have the option of extending this for even better results.

“Seven days is not really the recommended number of days, but it is the period one is able to notice a difference,” he explains.

At the moment, Mlongo says his business is being marketed by  word of mouth.

“Those who have used the belt tell their friends who later seek my services,” he says.

He also owns blood circulatory massage machine, which is reputed to ease body pressure and relax one’s muscles.

Albert Oketch, a doctor and nutritionist however warns that, “Though I have never seen people who are negatively affected by the weight-loss belt, people should stick to instructions.” The doctor adds that, “A healthy diet is always the better option to lose weight.”

He cautions that, “Pregnant women and infants should not use such gadgets. Patients with severe or special diseases must consult their physicians before using such equipment.”
