But this is not the case as a good number of those seeking palliative care after suffering life-threatening diseases improve their livelihoods and even get better. Palliative care is very important in patients suffering from diseases like cancer hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, liver cirrhosis, kidney failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, HIV, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis among others. In today's episode Faith Kutere speaks to The Kenya Hospices and Palliative Care Association (KEHPCA) Director David Musyoki on importance and reception of palliative care services in Kenya.
