Former President Mwai Kibaki who is recovering in South Africa after a minor surgery returned to hospital yesterday for check up.
Sources said doctors at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital in Johannesburg were impressed with Mr Kibaki's progress since he was discharged.
"The old man is doing well after being discharged from hospital. Today (yesterday), he went for a routine check up where doctors gave him a clean bill of health and he went back to his apartment," a source said.
The source added: "He is on the road to full recovery. The small wound on his neck has fully healed but he is still under medication."

The former president who was flown to South Africa a fortnight ago is expected back in the country at the weekend after a successful operation.
He was reportedly chatting happily with his family members and a few friends who have visited him in South Africa.
He is living in an apartment in Johannesburg and has been on bed rest on the advice of the doctors who conducted the procedure last week.
Mr Kibaki underwent an operation to remove a clot in one of the arteries in the neck last week. He was discharged from hospital six days ago.
Kibaki was flown to South Africa after spending a night at Karen Hospital.
He was admitted to Sunninghill, one of the most prestigious hospitals in South Africa. The facility specialises in heart conditions.
