Stacy Michuki, granddaughter of the late Kenyan politician and businessman John Michuki, was on 20 October crowned the new Miss Universe Kenya 2019. She will represent Kenya at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant scheduled to take place on 19 December in Seoul, South Korea.

Stacy emerged the winner over 13 other contestants including popular Kenyan singer’s Akothee’s daughter Aggrey Dion Okello aka Rue Baby, who followed closely as the first runners up.

The Kenyan beauty succeeded Wabaiya Kariuki, the former Miss Universe 2018 and is over the moon on her win.

"Being a model has been the best thing that has happened to me. It allows me to be someone I am not every day," said Stacy after her win.

“I’m so happy! I want to thank everyone who supports my journey and above all, I want to thank God because this battle was also fought on my knees!”

In 2017, the drop-dead gorgeous model was crowned Face of Nairobi Top Teen Model. In the following year, Stacy took part in the Few's Next Face 2018 and became the first runners up.
