Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua on Tuesday jumped to the defense of Rev Lucy Natasha after a section of Kenyans castigated her for a tattoo on her arm. This is after the preacher shared a photo of herself receiving the Covid-19 jab and hawk-eyed netizens noticed an Oracle tattoo on her arm. Some said it was wrong of the preacher to have ink on her body as the Bible is against it.

Leviticus 19:28 'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.

Mutua, on his part, encouraged the preacher to continue spreading God’s word and turn a deaf ear to her critics.

“Rev. Lucy Natasha, preach on and turn your back to the critics, sceptics and naysayers. People will always talk tattoo or no tattoo. Shine on for the Lord and reach out to souls. There's nothing you can do to please everyone!” he tweeted.

The preacher responded by thanking the ‘moral cop’ saying, “Thanks @EzekielMutua for the words of encouragement and much humbled touching lives and reaching our generation with the message of hope and faith in God.”

Earlier Natasha had responded to those claiming she was ‘mixing light and darkness’ by saying it is not easy to pursue God’s calling. She encouraged those in similar situations to remain steadfast in their course as they may never get complete approval.

“One of the hardest struggles you’ll encounter in life is finding the strength and courage to do what God is calling you to do. Don’t let the critics, naysayers, or negative people discourage you from obedience.

“As much as we would love the complete approval, acceptance, and support of others, we may not always get it. Nevertheless, we must continue to be obedient,” she wrote.

Adding: “People ONLY affect your life when you allow them to. No one else is supposed to understand your calling like you. It wasn’t a conference call! #WisdomOfLife
