In partnership with the French-based Olympique Lyonnais, Kenyan based football academy, Rova Academy will be hosting a scouting session for football talents.
The Academy has announced a football exchange program with the French club for both boys and girl’s ages 2008 to 2011 starting 9th to 12th March 2022.
The new technical agreement that will last for three years will see interested parties get a chance to undergo scouting training from Olympique Lyonnais professionals and ultimately get a chance to join Rova – OL elite football program in Nairobi if successful.
Speaking to the press during the launch of the programme, Rova Sports Academy CEO Rose Maghas said the academy is out to tap and nurture football talents for the future of Kenyan football.
“The partnership between Rova Academy and Olympique Lyonnais means that as a young academy we get to benefit from the expertise from one of the best youth development academies in the world and that the raw talent in Kenya will get an opportunity to go through a well-structured and professionally run academy,” said Maghas.
She further noted that Rova Academy chose the path less travelled to partner with this great football team in the hopes of creating opportunities for the next crop of international footballers.
A total of 136 footballers will be selected with each age set having 22 slots.
Launched in 2019 in Nairobi, Rova Sports Academy has allowed student-athletes to combine their education with high-level sports training from professional coaches driven by the vision to bring out the full potential of their student-athletes.
Other sporting activities include Rugby, Football, swimming and tennis with the aim of finding the top Kenyan athletes of tomorrow.
Based on the British and American curriculum of education, Rova Sports Academy offers an excellent "sport-study" project to support the best young talents from 10 to 17 years old in their progress to the top professionals.?
