Kenya: A young man who had sold his land surprised villagers when he drove home in a modern luxury bus carrying newly bought furniture and household goods.
The 28-year-old man was also in the company of three beautiful girls and was escorted by armed police officers.
The man had a month earlier nagged his father to let him sell part of his land and lead his life the way he wanted.
“Though I saw he cannot manage money and would squander it, I reluctantly let him sell when he threatened to harm me if I did not give him what he said rightfully belonged to him,” his father said.
The young man got a willing buyer for his quarter acre piece of land at Sh1 million where he was to collect the money in Nairobi.
He left for Nairobi in the company of two other young men who would help him purchase an assortment of furniture, electronic goods and clothes.
Shock greeted his companions when after buying the goods he asked them to take him to a posh club to drink a few bottles for the road.
They were soon joined by a beautiful lady and they together drank beer and ate food costing more than Sh10,000. He also generously tipped the lady and for that she called two other beautiful girls so that he could take them to his rural home as his wives.
On reaching the bus terminus, he shocked his companions and the girls when instead of hiring a taxi or paying for six seats in a matatu he hired a 70 seater modern luxury bus.
Police escort
Next he ordered to be driven to a police station where he ordered armed police officers who would guard the expensive goods he had bought and offer VIP security to him and his companions.
Disbelief greeted his village when the bus snaked its way to the shopping centre hooting and making every one run to their direction to watch.
He even bought a bull and five goats and had them slaughtered for people to feast on.
“This young man is lost. He has brought himself a fame that will be short lived and will soon squander all the money to live a life of poverty because he has sold all his land,” his father noted.
