Maseno School are through to the Nyanza Region Secondary School basketball boy's finals.
After three years of torment and ridicule at the hand of three time Kisumu County champions Onjiko High School, Maseno School on Saturday morning reminded Kenya of their basketball prowess after coming from behind to knock out the regional defending champions.
Interestingly, the semifinal pitting Maseno School and Onjiko was postponed on Friday evening after alleged complains of darkness when Maseno were leading 49-41 in the fourth quarter.
Match officials proceeded to cancel the game which was pushed to today (Saturday) for a rematch where after trailing and exchanging leads, Maseno School completed an impressive 50-45 win over Onjiko in broad daylight of the morning.
The win will now see Maseno battle Homa Bay giants Agoro Sare in the finals later in the day.
