A man has landed in court for allegedly biting his former lover's nose and fingers after she left him for another man.
Julius Mwangi denied the assault charges in which he was accused of attacking Janemike Rehema on October 12 at her workplace in the Gikomba open-air market in Nairobi's Kamukunji Sub-County.
Previously, the two were reportedly lovers before they parted ways, a development that appeared to have hurt the man.
He is alleged to have been stalking Rehema and threatening to harm her.
On the fateful day, the accused is said to have crept into Rehema's shop and hid behind the door.

He allegedly stayed there until the complainant decided to close the shop, at which point the accused pounced on her from behind.
Rehema said Mwangi headbutted her on the nose before biting it. He then bit her fingers, while bitterly complaining that her leaving him had made him a "useless single man."
Rehema's neighbors rescued her while the accused escaped. He was later arrested and taken to court, where he was granted a cash bail of Sh10,000 pending the hearing of the case on June 19, 2025.
