PSC cancels security warden recruitment advert

It still remains unclear whether the positions will be re-advertised.

The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) has withdrawn its recent job advertisement for the position of Security Warden, barely six weeks after it was published.

In a notice carried in Monday’s local dailies, PSC, through the Clerk of the Senate, announced that the July 1, 2025, advert for the role of Security Warden II (PSC 4) had been cancelled.

“Notice is hereby given that the advertisement for the position of Security Warden II (PSC 4), PSC/PJS/01/2025, which was published on July 1, has been cancelled. Any inconvenience occasioned is highly regretted,” read part of the notice.

The recruitment had sought to fill 38 vacancies, with duties including manning security checkpoints, screening visitors, operating security equipment, and controlling access to Parliament. 

Applicants were also expected to monitor surveillance systems, maintain the occurrence book, provide first aid, and respond to security incidents.
Minimum qualifications included a KCSE mean grade of D+, paramilitary training, and at least three years of service in a uniformed force. 

The application window was set to close on July 15, 2025.

PSC did not disclose the reasons for the cancellation or indicate whether the positions will be re-advertised.
