Government appeals to Kenyans in Lebanon to evacuate

The government has urged Kenyans living in Lebanon to relocate to safer areas as fears of war escalate in the Middle East.

On Tuesday, the State Department of Diaspora Affairs called on Kenyans to seek immediate evacuation.

The department provided a link and emergency contacts to assist with the registration process.

Kenyans in Lebanon have been urged to call; [phone], [phone], or [phone] for assistance in evacuating.

The Ministry also advised those who can move to safer areas within Lebanon or leave the country to do so promptly.

Kenyans with family members in Lebanon are encouraged to contact the provided numbers for coordinated safety efforts. Alternatively, they can visit the department's offices at the Old Mutual Building, Ground Floor, along Upper Hill Road.

"We are also requesting Kenyans in the diaspora to help spread this information to as many people as possible, especially our brothers and sisters in Lebanon," the ministry added.

Kenyan citizens are also advised to stay informed via social media for updates on the situation.

As tensions flare in the Middle East, several countries have urged their nationals to leave Lebanon.

The conflict intensified after Iran vowed to retaliate against Israel, blaming it for the assassination of political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on Wednesday last week.
