Rejected CASs appointed as ambassadors

President William Ruto has appointed the Chief Administrative Secretaries (CAS) who were rejected by the courts to various envoy positions.

Former Kisii deputy governor Joash Maangi has been picked as Kenya's High Commissioner to Uganda; he had been nominated as Foreign Affairs CAS.

Ex-West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi has been nominated to be Kenya's High Commissioner to Accra, Ghana; he had been picked as Trade CAS.

Former Kisumu Senator Fred Outa was appointed ambassador to Cairo, Egypt; Ruto had nominated him to be Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs CAS.

Ex-Kericho Senator Christopher Langat has been nominated to take up the role in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

On the other hand, ex-Baringo County speaker David Kiplagat Kerich has been nominated to be Kenya's ambassador to Washington, USA.

Former Amani National Coalition nominated senator Petronila Were has been appointed the country's Deputy Head of Missions to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Other ambassadors appointed are Professor Anne Kisaka (Dakar, Senegal), Timothy Kaluma (Algiers, Algeria), Jessica Muthoni (Rabat, Morocco), David Kiplagat (Washington DC, USA) and Halima Yusuf (Hague, Netherlands).

Others are Everylyne Mwenda (Havana, Cuba), Peter Mathuki (Moscow, Russia), Moi Lemoshira (Tokyo, Japan), Kenneth Milimo (Dubai, UAE), John Mwangi (Tehran, Iran) and Abdi Aden (Muscat, Oman).

President Ruto also appointed other High Commissioners namely Catherine Kirumba (London, UK), Lilian Tomitom (Lusaka, Zambia), Peter Mbogo (Islamabad, Pakistan) and former Law Society of Kenya Vice President Caroline Kamende (Ottawa Canada).

Other Deputy Heads of Missions appointed are Suleiman Ibrahim (Kampala, Uganda), Sunya Morongeri (Pretoria, South Africa), Joseph Warui (London, UK), Rose Sumbeiywo (Rome, Italy) and Kipkosgei Toroitich (Vienna, Austria).

Others are Christopher Kirigua (Washington DC, USA), Peris Kariuki (Brasilia, Brazil), Jon CHessoni (Tel Aviv, Israel), Saadia Salim (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) and Raila Odinga's sister Akinyi Walkowa (Los Angeles, USA).

Phillip Omondi has been appointed a Special Envoy on Technology.

President Ruto also appointed Permanent Representatives; Gertrude Angote (United Nations Environment Programme), Grace Atieno (United Nations HABITAT), Fancy Too (Geneva, Switzerland) and Ekitela Erastus (United Nations, New York, USA)

Communication from Ruto's officer is that their names have already been forwarded to the National Assembly for vetting and approval before taking up their posts.
