Athi River, Kenya: Police have destroyed more than 5000 litres of illicit brew in a major crack down at Mlolongo area in Athi River, Machakos County
Officers with the assistance of the provincial administration ambushed the joint which is just 300meters from Mlolongo Police Station where they arrested a female brewer and 24 other drunkards.
Some of the suspects were too drunk and to comprehend what was going on.
Area residents claim police have been unable to stop the brewing center despite two deaths reported recently.

''We are happy that officers have now arrested these people.,'' said Mrs Nancy Mwangangi, a resident.
An agitated woman known as Mwende claimed their men drink the liquor which has turned them to Zombies who cannot fulfill their conjugal rights.
Athi River Deputy OCPD Lazarus Tarus, who led the swoop, cautioned the public against the illegal business saying police are on high alert to curb the vice.
“We are on high alert to ensure that illegal brewing ends as the menace is increasing the rate of poverty and crime among our youth. Majority of men consuming illegal brew are reported to have evaded their responsibilities of providing for their families,’’ said Tarus.
