Political leaders in Nyandarua County have differed with the proposal by the Committee on Revenue Allocation to have it allocated Sh3.2 billion.

The leaders now want the proposal to be reviewed upwards, saying that it required more funds since it was under developed.

Speaking during a parliamentary committee meeting on the funds allocation in Nyahururu town, the leaders, led by Ol Kalou MP Erastus Mureithi, said it would be unfair to give the county such an amount.

“What we would like to capitalise from next year is infrastructure and this would mean that we will not achieve our goal,” he said.

He observed that the region, unlike other counties in Central Province, had been neglected by both the former and current governments in terms of development.

He took issue with the Government for failing to tarmac the Ol Jororok-Ndundori road.
