Upon receiving the award, I was unbothered because I barely win any award, back home, leave alone I barely even get nominated for anything, so I was like how can win an international award, right?” he shared.
The funnyman says that he was taken aback when he saw people recognizing him.
“I was actually surprised that even people from South Africa and Nigeria know me. Africa was unpartisan cheering me on, literally everybody. I can’t lie, I was honestly so unprepared and nervous. I didn’t even know what to feel or say. I think God has the best sense of humour I had actually given up on awards I was like I don’t even care about awards,” he added.
For the comedian whose real name is Erastus Otieno, winning the award is a reflection of his consistent growth and ability to connect with his audience.
