Kenyan journalist Ferdinand Omondi on Tuesday lauded his wife Njeri Omondi for being by his side as he transitioned from employment to consultancy.
Omondi, who left the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in May this year, said Njeri is his greatest support system and was the fuel that kept him going as he juggled school and setting up a business.
“I cannot put into words how much support my wife has given me which has made me achieve the milestones I mark as 2023 ends.
“I moved on from the BBC, set up my consultancy and graduated first class- all within 7 months. It's been a whirlwind voyage, only steadied by your assuring presence and calm affirmation,” wrote the experienced journalist.
He further commended Njeri’s patience when she let him leave the country for an attachment when their relationship was still young and the late nights they spent planning his leave days.
Omondi, who has had successful stints at leading media houses in Kenya, is currently a communications consultant and he praised his wife’s assurance as he waded into a new territory.
“This year I also transitioned from employment to consultancy. The knowledge, assurance and affirmation that you have my back has made my journey stress-free and helped me thrive in record time.
“Njeri-Omondi, my success is yours. My victories are yours. My future is yours. I wouldn't have been here without your unfettered support,” said.
Adding: “I got a first-class degree, but I am more grateful for a first-class wife.”
Just last week, Omondi graduated with a First Class Degree in Communication Studies from St Paul’s University and was the top student.
