Little-known Mombasa golfer Peter Cheruiyot surprised colleagues after he emerged the overall winner of the Kambasome golf tournament at the par 71 sea-link Mombasa Golf Club, on Saturday.

The handicap 28 golfer returned an excellent 41 stableford points to be crowned the champion in the day-long 18 holes stableford tournament that brought together 180 golfers.
