Curved sofas have the advantage of solving conversation dilemmas. Whereas people sit facing the same direction on a straight lined sofa like passengers in a bus, the curved sofa enables people to converse with each other while maintaining eye contact.

Blending

Curved sofas blend better with other curved furniture such as a coffee table, side tables, ottomans and cabinets that can conform to the contour of the sofa edge.

A round area rug works absolute wonders and can soften the lines of an otherwise straight room. Curved sofa can look bulky, so ensure you buy one that is proportional to your room. If your space has a low ceiling, buy a low sofa back to create a sense of space. Where your room has a high ceiling, use a high back sofa, which will give a weighty presence to hold up to the room.

Sofas can be a pricey affair, so test the comfort and firmness of the sofa to check if it fits your requirements for both the seat area and the back.

Test the strength of the frame as well and look for a solid colour upholstery that blends in with the rest of your room décor. 

Measure the size of your sofa before purchasing to ensure it can get into your house.

Counter check to ensure it can fit into a lift if living in apartments on upper floors, and that it can get through your doors and corridor. The last thing you want to do is buy a sofa but you cannot get into your house.
