Nderitu further stated that the decision to remove any member from the party lies within the party and as a registrar, what one can do is confirm if the law was followed during the expulsion.
On Tuesday, May 23, the RPP issued a letter confirming that Kioni and Murathe are officially expelled from Jubilee Party.
In the letter, dated May 19, 2023, and addressed to the party Deputy Secretary General Joshua Kuttuny, the registrar stated that the new Jubilee Party leadership was led by EALA MP Kanini Kega.
There were several claims by political leaders that the letter was backdated. However, Nderitu says that is sheer propaganda.
"Backdating is if there was another document that was available then you cancel that and give out another one. We have not given any other letter. I am lost when I hear them say the letter was backdated," she said.
Despite the decision by the Registrar of Political Parties, the Kioni faction has moved the matter to the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal for further hearing which is yet to be heard.
