Six bodies retrieved from the Kware dumpsite near Mukuru Kwa Njenga, Nairobi were all females, detectives say.

According to a report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the six were severely mutilated in various stages of decomposition.

Earlier, images seen by The Standard showed the bodies well-wrapped in sacks and black polythene bags and later tied with ropes.

The bodies were transported to the City Mortuary where they await postmortem examination.

Reiterating DCI’s remarks, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) has directed Acting Inspector General Douglas Kanja to investigate the issue and present a report within 21 days.

Further, the DPP has called upon IPOA and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNHCR) to expedite the investigation of all reports of enforced disappearance and deaths allegedly committed by police officers and consistently submit reports to the ODPP for review every seven days.
