George Mwangi, the husband of Kiambu politician Gladys Chania, was buried at his Mang'u home in Gatundu North, Kiambu County this Thursday, October 27.

The media was barred from the burial that was attended by a few people.

It is at the Mang'u home that Mwangi, an engineer, was allegedly murdered on October 10.

Postmortem indicated that Mwangi died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Police said blood stains were spotted in the master bedroom of the three-bedroom house.

Authorities suspect that Mwangi was killed in his house, wrapped in a polythene bag and, thereafter, transported to Kieni Forest, Kiambu County, where his body was dumped.

Police are treating Gladys Chania, Mwangi's wife of 20 years, as the main suspect in the businessman's murder.

Morris Mbugua, a casual worker at Mwangi's home, was also arrested in connection with his death.

Chania, who unsuccessfully ran for Kiambu Woman Representative seat on a Jubilee Party ticket on the August 9, 2022, General Election, was released on Sh1 million cash bail on October 24.
