"Maxwel Shisika and Kevin Wanjiru, both 21 years old were arrested following the murder of John Chihonyi who was killed a few meters from Utalii College along Thika Road on February 5, 2023. The two robbed the deceased of his mobile phone, stabbed him in the chest, and then got away using a motorcycle," DCI said in a statement Saturday.

Authorities said they recovered a weapon believed to have been used in the crime, and a mobile phone belonging to Chihonyi.

"The two suspects were traced and arrested from their hideouts in Kariobangi North. A knife suspected to have been used to commit the murder was recovered and a mobile phone believed to be the proceeds of the crime was also recovered.
